Having just watched a couple of neighbours getting some work done by two different builders I was wondering what nationality make the best builders. One builder was Dutch, turned up did som work and then dsappeared for weeks at a time. The other Spanish came along and worked till the job was done. I have to add that the finished job by both was of a very high standard. |

The Spanish can really get stuck in when they need too....really hard workers in our experience and more reasonable too. The Russians and Bolivians seem to be cashing in on the building work lately......looks good too! |

I think builders are the same all over the world, you get good and bad, the best thing is recommendation and make them endless cups of tea if they are Brits. |

I have just had a Spanish builder and he has been great, turned up when he said he would and left quite late each night, didnt dissapear to do another job just got on and finished it, and great workman ship. I think some of the Dutch builders take on too much work and cant fit it all in, so they start a job to look good then have to dissapear to finish another job etc etc |

Hi just thought I would add my experience. With reference to the best builders, I agree with Lucy, you get good and bad all over but I have to point out that we go to a lot of houses that have been burgled and quite often it appears that it is after foreign nationals have been working on their houses. Without pointing the finger but it seems to be the Russian, Bolivians and Bulgarians. |

We have Spanish builders in at the mo, and they seem very good, got started quickly, turned up on the day they said they would. They have now run out of materials but have great faith that they will be here later today to finish the job. |

I always use a Spanish builder I find their work ethic to be very good. Would not use Polish or Russian builders because of the crime problem nor African of any sort. British builders tend to flag at the end of the day and where as the quality of workmanship is good in the morning by the end of the day it is hurried and not so much attention is paid to detail. |
