ever consider going back to the UK to live?

I have to admit that there is nothing that I miss about the UK. The weather, the miserable people, the over taxed culture not a thing.

There is nothing to miss everytime I go back to the UK I can feel the cloud of depression closing in on me

Well I have only been here 4 weeks but already love it, only thing I miss is family and friends, so no not looking to EVER go back.

I think most people only go back for health reasons as they find communication better, but we sure do have a lot to be thankful for here.

I have been here for just over 8 years now, and would not consider going back even for health reasons. I love the sun and the people and more relaxed life style.

In my experience about 50% of people below pension age go back within 3 years. Unless you are self-employed there is almost zero decently-paid employment here and although Spain is still cheaper you cannot live on fresh air. People also struggle with the language, the distance from family and friends, bureaucracy, bent developers/estate agents the weather (too hot/too cold) and simply "change."

As a good friend says, "It's a great place to live ....but nobody ever said it was going to be easy."

I agree with Steve, a lot of people come over here expecting it to be a little England, well its not and as long as you appreciate that you will be ok.

The wages are crap but at least the sun is still shining and in this heat you dont feel like eating too much any way.
